C’est la mort dans l’âme que je me vois contraint d’abandonner le développement de DMDS. Les raisons principales ? Principalement le manque de temps, mais aussi la difficulté à réunir régulièrement l’équipe, l’évolution professionnelle de chacun, pour certain l’éloignement du monde du développement DS, ...et pour être tout à fait honnête, la motivation en a pris un sérieux coup.

Le potentiel du projet n’est pas du tout remis en cause. Au contraire. Je me suis même penché dernièrement sur le portage iPhone de Dungeon Master, simplement sur le plan du concept. Et le potentiel reste intacte pour ce jeu qui date de 22 ans maintenant.

Le premier sentiment est celui de tristesse. Tristes de ne pas avoir pu concrétiser ce qui nous animait, nous, l’équipe de développement. Déçu de ne pas avoir pu proposer un résultat satisfaisant à la communauté, à vous.

Tout cela m’amène à remercier certaines personnes. Premièrement, les membres du projet DMDS avec qui j’ai beaucoup partagé et appris et surtout rêvé. Même si nous ne sommes pas allé jusqu’au bout, nous devrions être fier d’avoir tenté l’aventure. Une bien belle aventure. C’est pour cette raison que je tiens à vous remercier : Lord Raptor, Pitt et hdxs. Merci pour tout les gars Mais je tiens aussi à remercier les différentes communautés aussi bien Nintendo DS que Dungeon Master : Player Advance bien sûr (pmcc, Bobby Sixkilla, Metaluna, archilolo, Crypt, Arcadia et à tous ceux que j’oublie ^^), www.dungeon-master.com (Suule, iggy, Paul Stevens, …), etc... Time is come for us to show you our progression and our work with the release of the very first version of our project Dungeon Master DS. This is a pre-alpha version, which show just a little bit the gameplay and the interface ^^

With this version you could (like the original) see the main screen, and click on the green button ENTRER. You will be in the first level of the game. Do not pay attention to the artifacts yet that you will meet, they will not be there any more in very little time.

Controls :

You have to extract zip file into your linker root directory :

• graphics.dat : all game graphics data

Nous avons pour objectif de faire un moteur de jeu compatible avec toutes les versions de Dungeon Master, mais aussi Chaos Strike Back, et Dungeon Master II. Même si les deux derniers ne sont pas une priorité pour nous, le moteur sur lequel nous travaillons actuellement est pour le moment compatible.

Nous sommes en phase de débugage de cette partie, et on doit bien l’avouer : la gestion de la mémoire ça craint…

Une fois les problèmes liés à cette partie corrigés, nous seront à même de nous attaquer au moteur d’affichage, et donc de vous montrer la progression de manière plus marquante ^^
